All our professionals at Family Dental Center maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in dentistry.
Hello! My name is Dr. Sean Cullinan. I have practiced at Family Dental since 2006, and I am thrilled to have overseen the construction of our fabulously modern new facility at 908 Waukegan Rd. in Glenview! I graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. My philosophy of care is to provide high-quality conservative dentistry, incorporating the latest dental technologies, with patient comfort given the highest priority. I am huge proponent of continuing education and to that end I have taken 100s of hours of CE in: cosmetic dentistry (porcelain veneers, porcelain inlays/onlays, all ceramic crowns), orthodontics (Invisalign certified), endodontics, and implants. I grew up in Glenview, attending OLPH, Springman, and then graduating from Loyola Academy in 1996. Continuing my Jesuit education experience, I completed my B.A. in history at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. As part of a medical team composed of physicians, dentists, optometrists, and nurses from around the country, I participated in a medical mission trip to support underserved communities in Africa and India while in dental school. My family recently moved to the suburbs after 14 years in the city. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy time with my wife and our 4 sons, coaching their teams at the Winnetka Hockey Club. We are also active parishioners of Saints Joseph and Francis Xavier Parish in Wilmette. The highlight of my life is spending time with family, my parents, siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, many of whom reside here in the North Shore! I am honored to continue the practice my father started 42 years ago. Our family practice is grateful for the generations of families that have chosen us for their dental care. I am a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Arcolian Dental Society.
The best thing about being an orthodontist is the interaction with our patients and their families. I have worked in our orthodontist practice since I was 15 years old as a laboratory technician making retainers. I grew up in the area, attending New Trier High School, before moving to Cleveland, OH, and going to Case Western Reserve University. Following my graduation from dental school, I obtained an Orthodontic Specialty Certificate and a Certificate in Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Working in tandem with my father has been awesome. It is a blessing to be able to treat generations of families. In addition to my orthodontic practice, I am actively involved in orthodontic and craniofacial research, as an avid member of the following professional organizations: American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA), Midwest Society of Orthodontists (MSO), and the Illinois Association of Orthodontists (ISO). Outside of orthodontics, I love spending time with my wife Jessica, my dog Cody, and my family and friends.

The founding father of the Family Dental Center, Dr.Cullinan can still be seen occasionally at the office he created in 1980. Dr. Michael Cullinan graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1969 and subsequently served in the United States Army as a dental officer in Germany for 4 years. Returning to Chicago in the mid-1970s, he worked in private practice before establishing the Family Dental Center in 1980, dedicating it to providing dental care with excellence, integrity, and compassion. This Glenview, IL dental clinic has grown from one general dentist providing patients with the most advanced, comfortable, and personalized dental care to multiple dentists and specialists. Attuned to providing the 'latest' in technology and care for his patients, Dr. Cullinan is an avid reader and he continues to attend dental educational seminars. Dr. Cullinan is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. This father of three and grandfather of seven resides in Glenview with his wife. Though he 'officially' retired in 2008, Dr. Cullinan can still be found at Family Dental on occasion, ensuring that the practice he created 37 years ago is staying true to its original mission: uncompromised patient care and treating every single patient with the highest degree of compassion and empathy.
